Student Council Launches Textbook Access Office
The Textbook Access Office seeks to bridge the educational gap posed to low-income students by textbook costs. Low-income students can now borrow books from our existing library or request new books, completely free of charge. To learn more, head to www.uvastudco.com/textbooks.
Student Council Announces 4-Year Insurance Grant Low Income Students
We are proud to announce the final approval for a 4 year insurance grant pilot program for low-income students. We would also like to acknowledge Political Latinxs for Movement and Action in Society (PLUMAS) for their advocacy against student insurance loan debt for several years.
Student Council Passes FR21-24 to call for University Admin to Support August 11th and 12th Survivors

Last night, the Representative Body unanimously called for the University of Virginia to support survivors of the 2017 white supremacist attacks and urged students to donate to the survivors fund available at the link in our Instagram bio.
Student Council Comprehensive Plan Statement - 10/12/21
In solidarity with permanent residents of Charlottesville, and on behalf of all students at the University, the Executive Board stands committed to building affordable housing and lowering rent in Charlottesville; preventing further student encroachment into the Charlottesville community and displacement of sensitive neighborhoods; codifying essential tenants’ rights protections; and holding UVa accountable for its impact on the Charlottesville housing market.

Free STI Testing Clinic
The Student Council Safety and Wellness Agency is proud to announce its partnership with the Virginia Department of Health to provide students with FREE STI tests on Friday, October 22nd, in Newcomb Ballroom!
Testing options include HIV, Hepatitis C, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.
